YAY for our trip to Bear Lake!!! We LOVE it and look forward to it all summer! This year was so much fun!! The water is higher than its been in 20+ years and it comes right up to our cabin :) On Friday Jack was in the water for 4 1/2 hours and Brayden and Miles played for 6 hours STRAIGHT in the water! On day two the boys only came out of the water for a 5 minute break to eat and were back playing on the beach for 7 HOURS!! We loved seeing our family and eating lots of yummy food! We are already looking forward to next year when JT can come and UNCLE ZACH :) :) :)

We can't believe Brayden started 1st GRADE today!!! We thought that if we played really hard this summer that this day would never come.... but it did :( Brayden was a little nervous but as soon as he saw his buddies at the bus stop he was super excited! I did let myself be sad for today but now I am going to LOVE every minute of my Jack time! Brayden of course had a great day and the first thing he told us when he got home was what he ate for lunch and that he got to play on the "big kids" playground!!! We are looking forward to what this new school year brings and hoping for another awesome year at Butterfield Canyon!!

We had our annual Lagoon day last week and it was the funnest year yet!! The boys are at such fun ages that we really get to ride the rides ALL day!! Brayden and Jack are both just like their Dad and FeArLeSs when it comes to going on the big roller coasters! Brayden and JT rode every ride and Brayden is already looking forward to next year!! My favorite part about Lagoon this year was JT and I SECRETLY went back two days later on our bounce back passes for a day date!!!

This Summer has been crazy busy for Jeremy so the boys and I decided to brave the drive to San Diego WITHOUT him!!! Thankfully Aunt Sabrina rode along with us! We had such and easy ride down and back that I'm already planning our next trip :) Brayden and Jack where in HeAvEn all week playing with their cousins on the beach, jumping on the trampoline, having water balloon fights and water gun battles!! We also went down to the Mormon Battalion Museum (if anyone ever gets a chance to go... GO) it was a highlight of the trip for sure! The church has done such an amazing job making the entire museum interactive and kid friendly that my boys STILL can not stop talking about it! Their favorite part was panning for "gold" at the end of the tour! Thank you Hansen Family for a wonderful week!!

Let the AdVeNtUrEs begin!!! The boys and I went to "Farm Country" at Thanksgiving Point and LOVED it!! It's such a fun time of year to go see all the baby animals! We fed the cows and ducks, went on a wagon ride, rode horses and had a picnic in the sunshine!! It was a good day!!

It's official.... SUMMER BREAK has started!! Brayden finished his kindergarten year with flying colors earning his Brilliant Bobcat Award and being on the Honor Roll!! We are so proud of all of his hard work this year!! Brayden and Jack have started a list of FUN adventures they want to go on this summer..... and can't wait to get started!!!

Brayden only has 7 more days of kindergarten!!! He had his end of the year program this week and it was adorable!! The theme was "freedom isn't free" so the kids all sang patriotic songs and where dressed in red, white and blue!! Our favorite part of the program was at the beginning when the teachers introduced each child by saying who their hero was..... Brayden of course said his Dad because "he fights the bad guys on the battlefield to keep us safe"!! This school year has been such a wonderful experience for Brayden he can't wait to be a "big" 1st grader!!

JT and I decided this summer we want to eXpLoRe our beautiful state and see what UTAH has to offer! Adventure #1 took us south through the cute little town of Eureka to Topaz Mountain!! The boys had so much fun hiking around in search for "shiny" rocks and other treasures! Brayden and Jack each had their own hammer and were in heaven breaking rocks all afternoon!! Adventure #1 was a success!

Today was Jack's first day of school..... and he LOVED it!! He waited by the window all morning watching for his bus with his backpack on! If I thought having my kindergartner ride the bus was a challenge..... you should have seen the tears from mom this morning! Having to put my barely 3 YEAR OLD on the bus was definitely a leap of faith!! Thank goodness Dad was there to help hide the tears! It was no surprise that Jack had the time of his life today and LOVED every minute of his new routine! Yay Jack... we are so proud of our fearless little man....he could teach his mom a few things!!! And sorry about the "small" pictures from my phone!

I feel like we have been on vacation since Christmas and are having a hard time getting going again after the new year! We had a fantastic Christmas and have LOVED Brayden being home for the month of January! New things that are happening in the Tannahill family.... Brayden turns 6 at the end of the month and is rockin at Jr Jazz, Jack is a free man with his new walker and tested into a new preschool where he will get PT TWICE A WEEK instead of twice a month, Mom's back in school, and Dad got a different job at work and is crazy busy!!! All in all we are loving life and excited for whats to come in 2011!!!

TREE HUNTING 2010

Every year we go to the Manti La Sal mountains and cut down our Christmas tree!! This has become one of our most favorite Holiday traditions!! This year it took us 2 trips up the mountain to find the "perfect" tree!! Our first trip Uncle Chris and Aunt Sabrina came along to experience the joy of tree hunting! After playing in the snow for hours, being scared to DEATH by fresh mountain lion tracks and a long day in the car we came home empty handed! We went again yesterday and thanks to JT's lumberjack skills got a beautiful tree! The boys and I didn't get to help cut it down because the snow was so deep(above my knees) but we watched and yelled timber from the road! Such a fun adventure and another awesome year of memories from the tree hunt!!

It was not part of the plan for our little family to be blessed with our 3rd baby. We were able to hear a sweet little heartbeat at 8weeks and then at our second ultrasound at 10 weeks there was no longer a heartbeat. We are so grateful for our faith and love of our family and friends!!

What a whirlwind these past few days have been!!

Sunday afternoon walking into church we could tell Camp Williams was on fire and by the time we left church Sunday afternoon around 4pm we knew it had gotten REALLY serious, REALLY fast!!! JT was called into work as soon as we walked in the door to go help fight the fire... he was changed and in the air 45 minutes later (which is REALLY fast for the Army... haha)!! Around 5:30 my little brother Christopher was listening to his police scanner..... yes I said police scanner...... and heard the Unified Fire department taking about evacuating The Cove in Herriman (our neighborhood)! By the time Chris got to my house and we started packing every "important" thing we could think of into my van, the flames had come up over the top of the ridge from Camp Williams!!! I have to say I don't think I will ever forget standing on my front porch and seeing flames 30ft high come down the mountain towards our house!! The police department knocked on our door around 7pm to tell us it was our turn to leave.... the nice police man counted the number of people who left with me, watched us get into my van and then tied CAUTION tape to my front door!!

As we drove away that's when the tears started!!

The next 12 hours felt like a week waiting to hear if our neighborhood and our home had survived the fire!! When we finally turned the news off at midnight the fire department had estimated 150+ homes would be lost in the following hours! The next morning JT took off at 5:30am along with 3 other Blackhawks to keep fighting the fire and discovered only 3 HOMES had been lost during the night!! What a MiRaClE!!! The first thing Brayden asked when he woke up was if our house had burned down.... I told him it had not and he said.... "oh I LOVE Heavenly Father"!!

Today we are grateful for the NOT so subtle reminder of whats important in our lives!! Our hearts go out to the families who lost their homes and we are all anxious to start helping them rebuild their lives!!!

LaBoR DaY CAMPING TRIP!!

We would just like to introduce our newest addition to our little family.....

Yep... we are the proud new owners of this 1973, 23ft BEAUTY!!

We had so much fun camping over Labor Day weekend!! We went for 3 DAYS and had running water and a flushing toilet the entire weekend!! I think I was the happiest when I put the boys in the bath tub half way through our trip :) JT has been wanting to get a camper for a while so Jack and I would join him and Brayden on their camping adventures and we LoVeD it!! Of course I am excited to add a few personal touches like new "cute" curtains and a few family photos!!

This past weekend we went up to my parents cabin in BEAR LAKE!! It is absolutely gorgeous up there!! The only time the boys came out of the water was to eat (sometimes) and sleep!! Jeremy and I loved the wave runners and enjoyed spending time with all the Lindley's!! We already can't wait until next year!!

It's official we have a KINDERGARTNER!! Brayden started school today and he LOVED it!! I was not thrilled at the idea of Brayden riding the school bus on the first day but after some begging and pleading from him and his Dad I gave in!! I did shed some tears but was very impressed with myself that I didn't follow the bus to school!! As soon as Brayden got home he asked if he gets to go back tomorrow..... I think that's a good sign he had a GrEaT first day!!

Brayden has had NO interest in learning to ride his bike without training wheels! Yesterday JT convinced him to go practice and by the time JT met him outside Brayden was riding around the cul-de-sac!! This has been the story of Brayden's life.... once HE decides he wants to do something there is NOTHING stopping him!!

We LoVe the ZOO!! The boys were so excited to see all of the animals and surprisingly the animals were all out and AWAKE.... that never happens!! It was a good day!

The boys and I went and saw the Days of 47 Parade floats at the expo center this week!! The Dragon float was our favorite and it just happened to be done by Primary Children's!!!!

My latest DIY project..... framing the boy's bathroom mirror!!!

When I started pricing mirror frames online I was SHOCKED at how much they are!! To have this mirror framed (51 inches x 41 inches) it was anywhere from 160 to 300 DOLLARS!!! I finished this project for 26 DOLLARS!!! I would just like to thank the nice old man at Home Depot for helping me!

Jeremy took us "home" to Ferron with him over the weekend!! All three of my boys were in HeAvEn! We played in the sunshine all afternoon, had snow cones and Brayden, Jack and I got to go on our first horse ride! It was a great trip to Emery County!

Our HOA started a great tradition this year and honored the men and women in our neighborhood who serve in the armed forces! It was so neat to see how many veterans live around us and the different branches of the military they served in!! This is what the boys woke up to this morning.... a jelly bean trail from the EaStEr BuNnY leading to their EaStEr BaSkEtS!! Brayden loved following the trail around the house and Jack followed close behind eating every jelly bean he could get into his mouth!!

Mom and the boys celebrated St. Patrick's Day playing in the sunshine!! We have been waiting for a warm enough day to go feed the ducks and play at the park and today was the day!!! It was 60 degrees up at our house this afternoon and we couldn't get to the park fast enough!!!

I have been really curious to see how Jack would do at the park!?! And as always Jack doesn't seem to think he is any different then the rest of the kids playing!! You would never know he has NO feeling below his knees because he is climbing up everything and standing every chance he gets!!

Our "baby" Jack turned 2 this weekend!! Jack is the light of our lives..... his smile is contagious and with a personality like his you can't help but fall in love with our little guy!! Jack continues to amazes us every day with what he is able to accomplish! He goes up and down the stairs, climbs up and down from the kitchen table (yep, he doesn't stop at the chairs), is starting to take steps with his walker and has 360 spinning down in his wheel chair....... yep I think 2 is going to be a busy year for Jack!! We can't believe how quick Christmas came and went this year!!! The boys successfully stayed on the "nice" list and got some really fun toys from Santa! Brayden's favorite gifts were his Batman castle, Lego's and his automatic Nerf machine gun!! Jack loves his "wred" barn with his farm animals and his blackhawk "coptey"!! We felt so blessed this Holiday Season to be able to spend so much time with our family and friends! We definitely missed our Elder Lindley who spent this Holiday Season in the MTC but know he is right were he needs to be! We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas and wish you all a Happy New Year!! We love you!

Our semi annual Christmas trip this year was on the Disney MAGIC cruise ship!! We went on a 7 day adventure in the Caribbean!! During our week on the ship we stopped at Tortola on the British Virgin Island, St. Thomas and Disney's private island Castaway Cay!! We had an amazing time exploring the islands, playing on the beaches, being wined and dined at dinner, seeing our favorite Disney characters and to top it off being able to share it all with our entire family (aside from our Elder Zach)!! Thank you Grandma Jaime and Grandpa Sam... we love you!

The boys and I decided to tag along with Jeremy this week to Ft. Carson in Colorado!!! Jeremy had some training to do there but only for a few hours a day so we had plenty of time to play!!! We went swimming at the hotel, touring around Colorado Springs, we got to see the "Colorado" Barton's and of course did a lot of eating!!! We were surprised at how well the boys did on the road trip... thank goodness for the DVD player!!!

Halloween 2009 was a success... Brayden was a Storm Trooper and Jack was a firefighter in his RED wheelchair!! Brayden is the BEST big brother EVER and carried Jack's treat bucket up the stairs to every door for him.... it was so neat to see!!! We hope every one had a great Halloween this year!!!

Carving pumpkins this year was so much fun!!! I love watching how different Brayden and Jack's little personalities are!! Brayden loved carving his pumpkin all by himself this year but washed his hands 10 times off and on while doing it!! And Jack could not get messy enough digging into the pumpkins and loved playing with the seeds!! They are so different but already the best of friends!!!

I took a weekend off!!! I went to Denver to "play" with some of my dearest friends!! I have been best friends with these ladies since 4 GRADE!!! We try and get together at least once year and have some girl time!! I love that Desiree and Micah are both still in Denver so I get to go back "home" to see them... it's a win win for me!!!

What an amazing weekend!! I had the chance to spend the last few days with some of the most influential women in my life!! We went to the Time Out For Women conference put on by Deseret Book! 2 years ago we went to Boise and this year we went up to USU in Logan!! I absolutely LOVE being uplifted by messages of hope!! We spent the weekend laughing, crying and being inspired to be better women!! Mission accomplished!! I have a renewed attitude towards being a mother and wife! This year the presenters focused on the "certainty that comes when you know life's truths".... it was just what I needed!! What an amazing thing to be surrounded by hundreds of women who are all striving to do better in their lives.. its a powerful thing to be apart of!! Thank you for the perfect weekend ladies... Love you!!

Today was Brayden's first day at his new preschool, Small Wonders!! He is so excited to be back in school and to meet some new friends in his class!! Brayden is my little social butterfly... he chooses playing with friends over Mom and Jack any day!! His new teacher is Miss Casey and her strength is busy little boys...... she is definitely the right fit for our Brayden!! We are looking forward to this last year of preschool and I am excited to have some one on one time with my not so little Jack again!!

Sorry we have been away from the blogging world for a few months....
but I think we are back!!

Our boys are keeping us super busy and they are growing up so fast!! During the past 2 months Brayden and his Dad have been able to fit in 3 camping trips, Jack and Mom went to San Diego to run a 10k with Aunt Amber, Uncle Zach got his mission call to Mexico City and we have officially ordered Jack's wheelchair (watch for pictures when it arrives)!! That's a quick glimpse at a few excuses I have for not blogging!!

We went to Discovery Gateway today for the first time and the boys LOVED IT!!! It is the neatest place... I think us Moms helped add to the 3 hours we were able to spend there!!

Spring is in full "swing"...... Tball has taken over!! This is Brayden's first year playing and he is LOVING IT!! Jeremy is coaching his team and they are having so much fun together!! We are so lucky to have our Uncle Zach to model after... Brayden wanted to be Zach's number and he knows just how to hit home plate with his bat 2 times before he hits the ball!! Uncle Zach would be so proud!!

We went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point this weekend! It was still a little early to see ALL of the tulips in bloom but beautiful none the less!! Brayden and Jack loved being out in the sunshine!! Thanks Barney's for a fun afternoon!!

I thought I would take a few pictures of Jack's little feet before his big surgery on Wednesday! I am having a harder time than I thought with the idea that Jack's cute, crooked feet that are so him... will be no more! I am so excited that Jack will be able to start standing on his "new" straight feet but I am definitely going to miss the feet he was born with! We have said it all along that Jack is our family's little miracle and this week will be no different! We truly feel so blessed to be living in a time when modern medicine is so advanced and Jack has the opportunity to take advantage of the latest and greatest the medical world has to offer him!! Our new Home!!

We are all settled in and LOVING our new house!! I remember now why people only move every ten years or so.... the packing and unpacking seems like it will never end! We are excited to start a new chapter in our lives and are looking forward to the opportunities this new area will bring our family! The boys have not skipped a beat, Brayden has made some fun new friends in the neighborhood and Jack is just happy to be here!! There are 15 kids in our cul-de-sac from ages 1 to 16 years old and needless to say there is ALWAYS something fun for Brayden to do! Jeremy is loving the country feel of Herriman and being so close to Butterfield canyon! I think its a good compromise for the country boy in Jeremy and the city girl in me!! Our next big happening is Jack's surgery on the 15th of April! He will have his little feet straighted out and then back to those plaster cast for 6 weeks! Wish us luck!!

I will keep you all updated on how our little guy does!!

It's true.... Jack turned 1 today! I can not believe my baby is already a YEAR OLD!! When I think back to a year ago I can not believe how far our little Jackers has come!! He has defeated the odds against him and continues to amaze us every day!

I never thought I would see the day when I went an entire month without updating the blog.... it just goes to show you what happens when life gets in the way!! We have had a CRAZY BUSY January and are counting to have a CRAZY BUSY February!! In January we were able to take a trip to Denver to go watch 2 basketball games!! We have some close friends that I grew up with that shared their COURTSIDE tickets with Jeremy and I!! It truly was one of the coolest things that we have been able to do together..... Jeremy says he can die a happy man!! Thank you Garrett, Katie and Dessiree for playing with the boys so we could go to the games!

We also have celebrated Brayden's 4th Birthday on the 31st of January! I can not believe I have a 4 YEAR OLD!!! We had a fun little party at the bowling alley with his friends and of course a Transformers Birthday cake!!! Happy Birthday Brayden!

Just when we thought the month couldn't get any more crazy..... we sold our house!! YIPPEE!!!! So it is good bye Lehi hello Herriman for the Tannahill's!! We are really excited for something new!!

Christmas time has been so busy at the Tannahill house!! Jeremy was in Hawaii for the first two weeks in December with the army, so we are loving having him home! We have been having so much fun this year with Brayden! This is the first year he really understands how Christmas works and what its all about!! I don't know what I am going to do when I can't use "Santa is watching you..... you better be good Santa is watching!!" anymore?? As for Jack he loves the lights on the tree and is just happy to be in the middle of it all!!

We took the boys to see Santa this past weekend (the best Santa in town) and they loved it!! I had a hard time getting Jack off Santa's lap... he loved the white beard!! We hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas!!

Saturday we started a new Tannahill family tradition.. we went to Emery County and cut down our Christmas tree off the mountain!! We were able to go with Roger and Shelly Barton! Thanks to Roger we found a beautiful tree and it only took us a few hours! The boys loved it, Jeremy was in heaven!! Thank you Shelly for cuddling Jack while I went "tree shopping"!!

Brayden and I had a great "date night" on Thursday! Jeremy got us tickets to Disney On Ice and offered to stay home with Jack (big sacrifice I know) so Brayden's friend Tess and her mom Brandi could come with us!! Disney never lets you down, the show was great! Brayden's favorite part was Buzz and Aladin!! It was fun to see the different way Tess and Brayden watched the show..... . Tess loved watching the Disney princess's skate around and dance with their princes and Brayden in the middle of the double skating routine leaned over and asked "mom... when are they going to fight?" I love being a boy mom!! Thanks Brandi and Tess for a fun night out!!

Jack had his PT (physical therapy) visit today and Mark his therapist brought Jack's stander!!! Luckily our little guy LOVED IT!! I think he felt so big and strong! Jack has come so far in his short 8 months!! He is sitting by himself, rolling over, and is starting to want to STAND now!! We are so excited to keep watching Jack and his progress! He is still amazing us everyday and is such an example of strength and perseverance for our little family!! We love you Jack!!

Watching History Be Made!

I am so excited I was able to watch HISTORY be made last night! I thought it was an incredible speech given be our President-elect Barack Obama! All of my political differences aside it was nice to be moved be a political leader again! I remember watching President Bush after 9-11 and feeling encouraged and hopeful but I have to be honest, it has been FOREVER since ANY political leader has made an inspiring address to our nation! Last night I felt so patriotic as he talked about all our country has accomplished over the past 100 years!! It will definitely be a change to have a President that is passionate about what he believes in!! Today I am feeling hopeful for the next 4 years..... nervous but still hopeful!!

Jackson Hole!

Jeremy and I were able to get away without the little ones this weekend!! For any of you who are parents, you know what a BIG DEAL that is! We planned a trip up to Jackson Hole because neither of us have been up there before! We are hooked! The town of Jackson Hole is so much fun ( even on the "off season"). We spent the weekend sight seeing, shopping, eating and most of all relaxing! The Teton Mountains are absolutely beautiful! We drove up to Jenny Lake and other than the BEAR warnings posted EVERYWHERE... had a good time hiking around! It was a perfect little getaway! I think the boys enjoyed being spoiled by the Grandparents as much as we loved letting them be!!

OK so blog entry #2 for me! It took me 7 years to get Erin to a haunted house but I finally did it! (Never give up kids! Dreams do come true!!!) It was one of the funnest date nights we have had in a long time. First we had the most delicious sushi ever! All I can say is, "Cowboy Roll." Then off to the mall where I softened her up with a quick stop in Old Navy and Forever 21. The best part about that is she didn't buy anything! Then the fun began! Nightmare on 13th Street was AWESOME! I like to think that I am kinda brave and I was screaming like a school yard girl! Erin was so traumatised after ward that she slept with the light on. I am so proud of my brave wife! She did great through the whole thing up until the end where she wasn't quick enough to get away from the "Chainsaw Man" and I had to leave her behind! When I went back to save my slow and terrified wife she was huddled in the corner, "Chainsaw Man" leaning over her with sparks flying from the blade and screaming louder than ANYTHING I have ever heard. I did rescue her though and was able to smooth over the "Leave behind" with some Coldstone Ice Cream. All in all it was a great night and I can't wait for next Halloween! Great job Erin. You never cease to amaze me! YOU ROCK!!! and I love you!

A Big Day For Jack!

( Little Jack scared to DEATH)

What an eventful day!! Yesterday morning I took Jack up to Primary Children's for spina bifida clinic. We hadn't been to clinic in a few months so I thought it would be a quick and easy appointment. Jack does not have any surgery's scheduled right now and we are not working on anything special other than his physical therapy visits so I thought the morning would be pretty uneventful.... I will never go to PCMC and think our visit will be quick again!! We saw the orthopedic surgeon, physical therapy, occupational therapy, a dietitian, and the neurosurgeon!! Oh no we aren't done yet.... one of the neurosurgeons wanted a CAT scan of Jacks head so we "quickly" went and had a CAT scan done! The morning was madness to say the least! So unfortunately the CAT scan showed some fluid around Jacks brain??? This is different than the hydrocephalus we have been warned about since Jack was born. The neurosurgeon decided to watch him over the next month and see if there is any behavioral changes or effects caused by the fluid! A little scary huh. We know that Jack is so strong and has over come so much in his little life already that this is just one more trial we will all learn from! We love you baby Jack!!

Have you ever had one of those weeks that helps put things in perspective for you or made you realize how blessed you are??? This week has been a roller coaster of emotions for me and has done just that.... helped me remember that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father who knows ME and loves ME!! I am so thankful, not yet grateful, but thankful for the trials I have had in my life. You know those things that we all go through that test our strength, push us further than we ever wanted to be pushed, shake our testimonies only to strengthen them in the end and just sometimes ROCK OUR WORLD!! Unfortunately you probably all know exactly what I am talking about!

This past week my dearest friend Brandi showed me what true strength looked like... as she stood and spoke at her 1 year old little boys funeral! She bore her testimony of her love for our savior and thanked him for allowing her to be the mother of her sweet Miles. What an incredible woman!!
I think it is moments like these that you never forget! It was one of those experiences that when you think back on your life you will remember the exact feeling you had at that exact moment!
Thank you Brandi for allowing me to know Miles! I will be forever changed by his sweet spirit!

Our lives will always have its trials... sometimes because of choices we make and other times because of the choices people make around us! But what a comfort to know and hold tight to the knowledge that our Heavenly Father will never leave our side! "He will carry you" on those unbearable days and send his tender mercies when you need them most!! Thank you for letting me share the lessons I have learned over the past few months and during this past week!!!

Jacks Surgery...

Jack had surgery this morning... poor Jackers! He had tubes put in both ears after 3 months of fighting ear infections. Jack is so strong and today was no different! After flirting with every nurse that walked by he was off to the operating room! Jack was completely fine when the nurse took him from me and I was a mess! That was definitely the worst part of the morning. The surgery went great and Jack was back in my arms in 30 minutes! He was a little fussing waking up and the nurses tried to tell me it was the anaesthesia but I knew it was because my 25 lb 6 month old had not eaten since the night before! Sure enough after a bottle he was back to his carefree self!! He has been so happy all day and I can already tell he is feeling better. Good Job Jack!!

Last night Erin and I (Yes, this is JT's 1st Blog entry) went to the 97th Aviation Troop Commands Annual Dinning out. It was a great night all around. Erin finally found a dress that she loved and even after a last minute sprint to Ft. Douglas to get part of my uniform the night turned out great! I must say that Erin was absolutely GORGEOUS! She was perfect in every way last night. It is always fun to spend time with fellow soldiers who are war buddies. Even with all the camaraderie with the soldiers the night really is about spending time with our spouses who hold the military family together! This is Erin now.... the night was so fun! I love being able to get all dressed up and feel so girlie! Cpt. Tannahill was so handsome in his Dress Blues and made the night so special! GO ARMY!

I can not believe my baby started preschool today! I know parents always say... it seems like yesterday we drove 15 mph home from the hospital with him but it is so true! Brayden was so excited and I hate to admit it but was NOT SAD AT ALL when I left his classroom! He did ask me this morning if I would set the timer so I would remember to come get him from school!! Brayden is going to Discover Corner Preschool in our neighborhood and Miss Dawn is his 1st teacher. I love her theory on learning.... "Play is a Child's Work"! We are looking forward to a fun year! And I think Jack is excited to have some one on one time with mom... I know mom is!!!

The Tannahill's have successfully grown our 1st GARDEN!! I absolutely love the feeling of being able to grow food for my family! We have loved watching our garden grow. We planted zucchini, squash, corn, pumpkins, watermelons and a few sunflowers! We are so excited, we officially have 3 pumpkins growing and will hopefully be big and orange just in time for Halloween!! Brayden is definitely learning the meaning of patients waiting for the vegetables to be ripe enough to pick!

I promise to only preach for a min..... our church has repeatedly told us of the importance of being prepared! To be able to provide for our families and be self-reliant in case of an emergency. Ezra Taft Benson (1899–1994) Thirteenth President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints said, “The revelation to store food may be as essential to our temporal salvation today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah”. I don't know about You but the is enough for me to go out and get my year supply of food storage TODAY!

Girls Weekend in DENVER!!

This past weekend, I had a "GIRLS GETAWAY" in Denver! I flew into Colorado on Thursday and met up with 2 of my best girlfriends Desiree and Micah! We have been best friends since 4th GRADE and try and get together at least once a year! It was just what I needed..... a weekend of laughing, sushi, mini bowling, samples at Whole Foods, shopping, 16th Street Mall and old friends! Thanks for the weekend girls.... Love you both!

Our good friends, the Jeff's (from "Emery" County) made Brayden's summer when they gave us one of their puppies! I definitely took some convincing but as soon as Jeremy told me she doesn't shed.... I was sold!! We are loving having her and Brayden has not left the backyard for days!!!

Brayden had a rough day yesterday!! We were playing at the park with friends and Brayden was swinging.... he was in mid swing and decided to let go of the swing!!! He fell off of the swing backwards and hit his head and then scraped his lower back as he was falling! This was one of those moments that you would do ANYTHING has a mother to be able to rewind time and stop this from happening! Brayden is feeling a ton better this morning and has past all of the neurological checks I've been giving him for the past 24 hours! Sorry this is what you get having a paranoid nurse as a mom! I am starting to think we put the helmet on the wrong child... we love you Brayden!!

While Jack is in the middle of wearing his helmet we thought we might as well make it "cute"! The "under construction" theme seems to fit our little guy perfect. Between the helmet being on 23 hours a day (unless Nicole is around and helps him cheat) and his braces on his lower legs, he has had a long summer! Jack has his second scan on Friday that will tell us if the helmet has helped shape his little forehead and for how much longer he has to wear it! Wish us luck that the past 6 weeks have not been a complete waste of time and the helmet has been helping!

I am still trying to get used to this "Utah Holiday" but any time Jeremy has a 5 day weekend and our family gets to spend time together.... I wont complain!! We spent our day up at Ft. Douglas celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Army Reserve. It was Brayden's dream come true.... army guys everywhere and more big blow up bounce houses and slides than he could count!!! We played for as long as little "Jackers" could stand being in the sun.

We went up to PCMC for our 6th set of cast yesterday! Our day was filed with the normal good news and bad news minutes. The good news is Dr. Stotts decided that Jack's right foot needs a brace now and is done being casted!! So little Jack is loving only having a cast on his left leg! The bad news is that we are almost certain Jack has minimal feeling below his little knees and now have planned surgery for sure on his left foot! Yesterday was no different from our past visits... we get positive news and then are reminded how long the road ahead is for our "Jackers"! We are enjoying all of the positive milestones and thankful Jack is so strong for the challenges he is facing!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! Jeremy and I celebrated our 5th anniversary yesterday! I can not believe we have been married 5 YEARS!! We were able to drop our boys (yes even Jack) off with Uncle Chris and go downtown for dinner. We went to our favorite "with no kids" restaurant.. The Melting Pot and just sat and talked for hours! There is nothing better than having adult conversation while eating delicious food all night. After dinner we walked around Temple Square.... it was beautiful!

Our friend Nicole helped me make a DVD for Jeremy of the past 5 years! It was so fun to take a walk down memory lane together..... from living in Cedar City, moving to Alabama for flight school, surviving Hurricane Ivan in our hall closet, having our sweet Brayden, buying our first home, Jeremy's year deployment to Iraq, and now being blessed with our "little miracle" Jack we can not wait to see what the next 5 years has in store!!! I am thankful every day to be married to my best friend! Happy Anniversary babe..... I Love You!

What a day..... we were up at PCMC today with Jack! Poor little guy had a rough visit. It started with an unplanned CT scan to check for hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain). It always seems like an eternity waiting for the neurosurgeon to read the results! We are happy to report NO hydrocephalus... GO JACK! After that madness we headed upstairs for the dreaded cutting of the Achilles tendons! For those of you who have met our little guy know how strong he is and today was no exception. Jack was so brave and only shed a few tears! The procedure went great! Our visit ended with Jack getting his 5th set of casts on.

WEEK 4!!

Sorry for the slow update! Jack is now almost done with week 4 but I thought I would post some pics and the doctor report from last Thursday! Things are about the same.... Jack's little feet are responding great to the casting! This week (tomorrow) Dr. Stotts will be cutting both the right and left Achilles tendon... yes you read that right OUCH!!!!! We are so sad for baby Jack but we know he will do great! The purpose for this procedure is so that when the tendons reattach, the ankle with have better mobility! What ever you say Doc?? So remember our sweet Jack in your prayers tonight!!

Brayden has done the impossible..... he is potty trained!!! Jeremy is traveling the world for the week ( Paris and Morocco) courtesy of the Army so Brayden and Mom thought it would be fun to surprise Dad!! The idea of keeping it a secret from Dad and surprising him at the airport did the trick!!! I am so proud of my "BIG BOY" and I know his Dad will be so excited!! GO BRAYDEN!!!

I can not believe we are already half way done with casting Jacks feet!! We are now on his 3rd series of casts!! Jacks right foot has already been completely corrected and now is being casted in a neutral position while we wait for the left foot to catch up! The left foot is responding great to the cast and our little Jack has surprised us all again and will probably not need any surgery on his feet!!! Jack is such a strong little guy and continues to amazes us!!! GO JACK!!!!

One week down.... 5 to 7 more to go! Mom and Dad took Jack back up to PCMC this morning for the second series of casts. I don't know who was more nervous Mom or Jack when the nurse was cutting off the first set of casts but all went well and we got through it!!! Jack's little feet are already responding after only 1 WEEK!!! We are so excited to see how good they look after we are all done!! We were reminded again today how blessed we are to be able to take Jack to Primary Children's..... everyone who has worked with our little guy has been absolutely amazing! What a comfort it is to know that what ever may lie ahead for Jack he will have the best care available!!

SAVE THE TA TA's!!! Saturday was the Race for the Cure in Salt Lake City! It was such a neat thing to be apart of!! I was walking for "Billy's mom" who was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks earlier. Our team was a small part of the 17,000 people who walked or ran in the race. What a better way to spend Mother's Day weekend! This is officially a new tradition for my family to do every year! Congratulations to the SURVIVORS and thank you Team Tullos for a great day!!!!

Baby Jack has started having his little feet cast to correct his club feet. We are in for a long 6 to 8 weeks!! We go every Thursday up to PCMC (Primary Children's Medical Center) for new casts that will slowly turn his feet to the correct positions! Jack is truly a miracle and we are thankful everyday for this new addition to our family!!! He is growing and changing everyday...... I am trying to enjoy every moment!!

A ride in the Blackhawk!!

Today I had the chance to take a ride in the blackhawk helicopter!!! We flew to Park City down through Provo Canyon and up over the copper mine! The scenery was absolutely amazing!!! Other than the poor lady throwing up in the back..... the flight was incredible!!!

Mom and the boys went to the Aerospace Museum up at Hill Air Force Base and pretended to be pilots for a day!! Brayden loved the jets and the old fire truck! After the tour Brayden and Mom flew a mission to space in the spaceship while baby Jack slept close by.... Brayden said he was a better pilot than his Dad!!

3 Weeks have past and we are just now coming up for a breath!! Our boys are both adjusting well to our new routine! Jack has had a few follow up appointments and continues to amaze the doctors! We are continuing to watch Jack for hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain) but his little body has successfully drained enough fluid not to cause any problems...... we will keep you updated! As for Brayden..... he calls himself "the best big brother" and Jack would have to agree!! He has done so well having Jack home and is fascinated that babies don't have teeth! We have had an interesting few weeks at the Tannahill house!!

Baby Jack is here!!! Jack surprised us all on March 7th @ 5:44AM!! We had all planned on our little guy coming March 12th but we forget to tell Jack..... he had a different idea!! We are so excited to have this new addition to our family! Brayden loves being a big brother and is the best "helper"!! Jack had his first surgery to close his back a few hours after being born. The surgery lasted about 3 hours and everything went better then we could have expected!! He has such a strong spirit and has amazed us everyday since he joined our family!
